IoT Cybersecurity Certification Training
The DSA successfully organised a training programme for cybersecurity certification on 4/12/20, with the participation of a number of staff members from the DSA, as well as from other partners in the public and private sector. This training forms part of the implementation of a co-funded project which is being coordinated by the DSA: B4C – Building up the Cybersecurity Certification Capabilities of Cyprus. The DSA was successful in competing for funding for this project within 2020 from CEF – the Connecting Europe Facility, with the participation of other relevant entities.
The aim of this training was to significantly increase the knowledge of the participants related to relevant cybersecurity certification schemes for the Internet of Things (IoT), which will be promoted for implementation as part of the EU Cybersecurity Act. Enterprises which are active in the IoT area will be able to certify the cybersecurity of their products only once, with the resulting certificates being automatically recognised at the pan-European level.
With the widespread adoption of cybersecurity certification going forward, and the promotion of certified products in Cyprus and the EU, consumers will be in a much better position to select secure products which have been certified to defined security assurance levels, growing users’ trust in such products, technologies and services. The DSA is actively building its expertise and capabilities in this area, and will soon be acting as the National Cybersecurity Certification Authority of Cyprus.
